    piece of work. The more we talk about depression the better, not so much for those of us who have it but for those who see it as something strange and unmentionable, even scary. I wonder if they think it's catching.

    Most people I have spoken to about it have been matter of fact and rational, but I had a pharmacist once who took me aside and spoke in whispers about my antidepressant.

    I wanted to say, "Hey, look lady. I'm not possessed by freaking demons. What are you whispering about?"

    But I only answered in a normal (or slightly louder) voice, letting her know I expected the same from her.
