  •  Damn! Maybe we are two sides of the same coin (5+ / 0-)

Ummm...Mr. Erickson...if you're voting Republican in November after completely disemboweling their new plan, you are indeed carrying their "stagnant water." You're just completely clueless and dishonest.

Mr. Erickson finds himself in the same spot as many progressives.  Entirely disappointed with with the Congress (and President in our case) but lacking a better option.

Bush started two wars of aggression.  Obama is kinda sorta ending one.

Bush claimed all kinds of power for the Presidency.  Obama hasn't specifically repudiated any of those, and Congress hasn't reasserted their role.

We thought Obama would lead dramatic change in health care.  He gave up the goodies before negotiations began and Congress gave up most of the rest in search of bipartisanship.  Some improvements are being delivered to the people, but the headline is "10s of millions of guaranteed new customers for the Corps that screw us"

Torture.  Is there an argument in favor of it?  This shame on us all continues.

Habeas corpus?  Sure, mostly, but some kidnappees should get a ride in a Gulfstream to an undisclosed location.  Really?  Um, no.

FISA?  Under the bus before Obama was elected.

Economic crisis?  Well I certainly hope the campaign contributors are OK.

I could go on, but it is so depressing.  The opportunities that have been squandered, much like Bush after 9/11...

Have I disemboweled the President and Congress?  Will I carry their stagnant water?

    What choice do I have?

    Clueless and dishonest
is my name too.  Is the strategy of this site backwards?  Should we elect more democrats and then elect better democrats?  Given recent outcomes, we should seriously consider focusing on electing better democrats as the primary (pun intended) focus.  Perhaps that would give some spine to the others and prove that there is a road to success with progressive politics.

Yo, Erik, want to carpool to the polls?
