    He didn't gain wealth by running sweatshops or abusing workers or raping the land. He just took advantage of IBM's stupidity.  And he made hundreds of millionaires and hired thousands of well-paid engineers in the process.  I'm no PC fanboy, but anyone who has anything but praise for his noteworthy philanthropy in the last few years is just being cynical.

      well, cluelessness. Boca Raton just had no idea where things could go, and they'd never heard of Altair.

      20/20 hindsight. Wish I knew 8 years ago about facebook.

      Bill's genius was to buy stuff from Seattle Computer and license it to IBM and the user. In the old days there were other OS besides DOS and other languages besides basic, even for PCs.

      IBM corporate thought that no computer could be serious if it wasn't at least the size of a refridgerator.

      Without geometry, life is pointless. And blues harmonica players suck.
