    I think largely because it is so supported by the community.

    I would not support equalizing the amount per student across the country - very naturally, there is a substantial range in cost of living between North Dakoka and New York.

      has to be by state.  They'll have the demographics data to do it right.  I agree.

    •  Equalizing doesn't mean the same absolute amount (0+ / 0-)

      but the amounts per student vary far more than they should, even accounting for cost of living for specific areas. Jonathan Kozol at least hints there are both racial and class reasons for these variations, and at least some evidence shows him right.
