    Actually, as a science teacher I went to great lengths to explain why we did everything in class.  I even showed how certain science disciplines improved their abilities to make command decisions on personal things.

    I had a great mentor and great professors at the University of Southern Colorado's teacher ed. program.  That was the main drill:  Give the kids a hook to each lesson.  It isn't that hard for an experienced person of the outside world, but for someone who has never left a classroom, and is teaching kids, it's a lot harder.
