    The most important thing I learned from Alinsky is that, at the beginning of every fight, you answer three simple questions:

    1. What do we want?
    1. Who can give it to us?, and
    1. How can we force him to give it?

    Anything outside of that, is wasted effort.

    I carried that lesson through 30 years of labor organizing, environmental organizing, anti-war organizing, anti-creationist organizing, and any other organizing I ever did.
