how bad the "science" of polling is today.

Q: Why won't Wisconsin Republicans bet me big money on this race?

A: They're smarter than polling averages.

Grassroot passion comes and goes - Corporate interest in consistent. Message being that if you want to stay elected then sell-out, it's safer.

and you know Wisconsin politics, is that Feingold will pull it out because the polls aren't capturing the young voters?

The worst, Magellan, only called 2008 voters, systematically excluding anyone under 20.
norahc set up a registration table at Madison's Hemp Fest yesterday, getting 200, almost all under 20.

We've placed medical; marijuana referenda on the ballot in Dane County (Madison) and River Falls (another college town.) The turnout implications should be obvious.

Thanks for the info Ben - that would be the best surprise in the election to see everyone else in the nation predicting a Feingold loss.  Obama and pot is a real draw for Madison.  And the unions are big in Milwaukee.

If Feingold saves his seat, it would be nice for him to acknowledge Obama's help.  Since the primaries he's had some attitude towards him that almost looks like jealousy. Maybe I'm misreading it but it doesn't look like just a difference of democratic philosophies.
