    I missed this this morning as I was out having a big sparrow morning and then delivering an injured grouse to the bird rehab center (note to self: Quiche Gorge during leaf peeper season slows down EVERYTHING).

      big sparrow morning: at least six breeds of sparrow all in the same spot: fox, field, white-throated, white-crowned, song and swamp + brown creeper, dark-eyed junco (is that a sparrow, too?) & great blue heron.

      •  We have Oregon dark-eyed juncos just now, (0+ / 0-)

        and they are listed among the sparrows in my field book. I assume that means they are related.
