  •  Yep. Nobody anywhere in the world (12+ / 0-)

ever forgot to pay a bill.  Never, ever.  That's why everybody has an 800 credit score.  In your mean, nasty little universe.

Out here in the real world, people forget.  That's why we have the word, "forgot" in the English language.  See how that works?

And for the record, the neighbor - you know, the one you and the troll diarist also don't give a shit about? - the neighbor tried to pay the fucking $75.  The fire "chief" turned it down.  Figured killing some animals and letting a family's life go up in flames was just too much fun to pass up.

it's a little late to pay the $75. As another commenter put it below, you can't have a health system where you can wait to join health insurance until you are sick, but pre-existing conditions must be covered. You can talk about how people will sign up while still healthy out of the goodness of their hearts, but the economic truth is, it doesn't work that way.

If people want fire insurance in places where it isn't universal, they should sign up.

I look forward to single-payer universal health care. In the meantime, I buy insurance.
