I'll be out there voting for him.  But I'm somewhat dialed into the issues and still believe my vote makes a difference (even more during midterm elections).

If you've been laid off, are facing impending foreclosure and competing with 50 people with every job application, you don't want to hear it's going to take ten years to recover.  Same if you're a college student who won't be able to find a job after you graduate.  Hearing other stuff like the Democrats have passed a bill that will make you pay for health care insurance you can't currently afford isn't going to make you smile (I understand the how and why, the subsidies and all that, but it doesn't play well.)

Midterm elections have a depressed voter turnout.  The elderly vote more often and trend Republican.  The Democratic vote hasn't been energized by any particular issue at the polls, to my knowledge, and Feingold has been running a fairly low-key campaign for the position he's in.  The Republican message is loud and clear: create jobs, cut taxes, reduce the deficit.  They've got no logical basis for any of it and history isn't on their side, but if you're permitted to be fact-free in your arguments you can deliver them quite confidently.
