  •  I easily could be wrong, and perhaps showing (4+ / 0-)

my stupidity, but I believe that Sarah Palin, maybe unwittingly, enabled many people to be able to casually voice their bigotry with ease, since August of 2008.

Its motivated by people who are not capable at this point in history of being anything more than bigots. That they let it show so casually should not be a surprise given our political culture in which both parties treat us like crap.

Enough already. Stand up and fight. If you lose, you lose, but at least you tried. That's all I ask.

    •  You are just being a partisan (3+ / 0-)

this has nothing to do with Sarah Palin.

You know- I iknow this is a "Democratic" site. Whatever that means under the circumstances. But at some point, look in the mirror at the party. See what blood they have on their hands here too before looking to toss the stones at Palin.

She's only still relevant because the party is fucking up.

      •  I don't disagree with you that the party is (1+ / 0-)

effing up.  Their inaction and their fear have spoken volumes.  And their messaging stinks most of the time.

But I think there was a point that verbalizing bigotry became accepted.  Accepted into the "mainstream."   I think it was during the McCain/Palin rallies, even though McCain told that lady in the red shirt, "No, Obama's not an Arab," but still, being an Arab is not a bad thing.

Palin carried that message through after McCain lost.  The media has not deflated that ball she's running with -- they've gone to Facebook and Twitter, read her rantings, then reported it as "news."

And please, don't tell me, "I'm just being a partisan."  You don't know me.

Enough already. Stand up and fight. If you lose, you lose, but at least you tried. That's all I ask.

....because the corporate media is in love with her and reports her Tweets and Facebook postings like it was actually news.
