Concerning elections, the press are becoming irrelevant while money becomes more and more powerful.  The press, when they are not controlled by the candidate's supporters, can only screw things up for the candidate.  If you have enough money, you don't need the press.

Given our corrupt system of government, whereby the candidate who gets the most money from wealthy corporations and individuals will most likely be elected, simple logic dictates that a candidate should spend all of their time prostituting themselves.

This way, the candidate can spend the money gained from prostituting themselves, (also known as "campaign contributions") on propaganda they have complete control over.  The best prostitutes will be able to buy more than enough airtime to win, even if they ignore the press.
