that did absolutely nothing for me or my people, but also did nothing overtly AGAINST us either.  At this point, I don't care if Obama wins or loses in 2012, and the Republican boogyman isn't enough to scare me.  Let him get beat.  Things will simply run along status quo.

It wasn't the Democrats that put gay issues on the ballot to enlarge their voting precentages. It wasn't Democrats that fought to prevent gays the rights of parents/adoption.

    •  Obama, not Dems...Obama 3rd strike (1+ / 0-)

I am equally APPALLED by this action.  Like you, President Obama has just earned his third strike:

      1. Rick Warren invocation
      1. Appealing unconstitutionality of DOMA
      1. Appealing unconstitutionality of DADT

But not the Dems.  They added repeal to the Defense Authorization bill, and were counting on both Brown and Collins' help to put the vote over the top.  Both were coerced into backing off from doing so.

You can't blame the Dems, but I DO blame Obama.

Like you, whatever GOP bogeyman they run up against him in 2012 is likely to be horrendous.  But I can NOT support someone who does not believe that I am an equal human being, an equal citizen of the United States.

I thought Obama did, I was wrong.

    •  Agreed, but remember Dems =/= Obama (0+ / 0-)

The Democratic Party can be saved and can do good work.  Obama's very unfortunately proved that on most issues he simply won't, but remember Obama =/= Dems.  Not that I'm accusing you of making that mistake.
