    with ant-abortionist women in the Catholic Church above. I saw a lot of what I would consider coerced mindsets among these women, women who were desperate for the approval of men, especially male authority figures.  From a psychological point of view, it's hard to explain such unquestioning submission of one's self and one's own interests in order to gain or retain the approval of someone else, especially someone else who they've given so much power to over their lives, unless these women grew up in an abusive or otherwise traumatic home where their own sense of personhood was systematically devalued and crushed and where they had to continually defer their own will to that of an male authority figure.

    Sadly ironic that the anti-abortion culture appears to hinge so profoundly on the oppression of women's personhood while claiming to protect the personhood of embryos and fetuses.
