    shouldn't be making decisions for us on buying anything whether it is houses, cars, or marijuana.

    Before I buy a used car I have my mechanic look it over so that I can make an informed decision.  A lawyer does the same thing for real estate.

    Do you want the government to make sure that you buy the right type of marijuana? If I don't get the buzz I want, I don't plan on blaming the government.  Same goes for buying a house.  If I buy a house with no down payment and the payment is 50% of my income, I also shouldn't blame the government.

    If your complaint is that people that broke the law were not prosecuted, I agree.  However, I think that a big reason that prosecutions were so limited is that once they started investigating and filing charges, many buyers as well as mortgage brokers and appraisers would have been prosecuted.  Fraud by buyers was unacceptably high.
