    cows, goats, hogs and chickens.  Ate seasonally from gardens and orchards and canned, smoked and dried their own food.  My Dad and his brothers hunted and we often had game meats.  I think I've eaten just about everything but skunk.

      Great grandma canned her fruits and they became desert and preserves for year-round. There was probably enough sugar to make one gasp, but it was whole food and she wasn't using high-fructose corn syrup or any of the other 40 additives you'll see on your ice cream today.
