  •  My take is a little different (6+ / 0-)

I don't think the ad was meant to qyuestion Paul's Christianness today, nor was it to attack him for mocking Christianity or even how he treated the woman involved.  It was more to trigger a reaction from Paul.

Most of th Commonwealth of Kentucky has already heard this tory of what Paul did in college.  But Paul kind of edged around it then and he is doing it now.  He is refusing to admit he did it and just accept responsibility and say he was a young college kid and has grown beyond tha.

I  think Conway was setting him up for a final push where Paul has denied or avoided talking about things he has said or done.  Final punch line is "Do you want somebody who won't even accept responsibility for his own words or actions representing Kentucky?"  At least I hope that is where this is going.

Can put the Medicare dedutible, the no vote for the Civil Rights Act, statements about SS and the minimum wage and this all together and point out how Paul has avoided accepting responsibility for everything including this.  Then finish with that final question.

A good prosecutor does a lot of individual things then brings them all together at the end.  And Conway is a good prosecutor.
