  •  As far as I'm concerned, time is just as if not (9+ / 0-)

more important. Without donations of time, there would be no ground campaign. And the polls are not polling people who eschew land lines in favor of cell phones. Interestingly enough, the lists OFA use seem to mainly rely on cell phone holders.

So the final campaign results may differ substantially from the polls.

    Keep on donating your time!!!!

    •  I so agree, FLS, (7+ / 0-)

Through OFA I'm reaching mostly cell phone users. I think the oldie polls like the WSJ, Gallup, and Rasmussen don't call cell phones, but I'm not sure. If they don't, I think we'll be in for a big pleasant surprise on Nov.2. Even "older" people my age use primarily cell phones, at least here in CA.

Does anyone know for sure which polls do/do not call to cell phones? To me, the answer is a Big F******Deal!

Oh, I also was quizzing my daughter (22 at Berkeley) about whether most of her friends planned to vote. Her answer: Heck yes, Mom. Everyone and I mean everyone is voting for Prop. 19! (Prop.19 is the referendum to make marijuana legal in CA.) That kind of encouraged me, since these same young people will push the button for all Dems! Elections in CA (Fiorina v Boxer and Whitman v Brown) are way too close for comfort in this usually bright blue state.

        and even then, have-to-be-going now.
but a moral question on the level of boxers or briefs.

Yankees or Bush's Rangers? Although Yankees seem to be making the choice for me.

        •  Love ya too, BSRH! (4+ / 0-)

A miserable playoff season for both of us, eh? I find myself cheering mildly for the Rangers, only because the Rangers are slightly less despicable to me than the Yankees. My justification: Rangers are in our division. If they weren't so good this year, we would have won the division, as we usually do, and we would be there against the Yankees. Also, I still love Guerrera and Benji Molina. And too, they wear red.

          Hope you are doing well!!

        •  Go Yankees (for now) (6+ / 0-)

Feels funny to say that, because to me, it is not amusing to watch the Team of Infinite Bucks show year after year that money (almost) always wins. Thanks, we knew that already.

But this year, we have hopes for our SF Giants, and are looking for a suitable opponent should we reach the World Series (a distinct possibility). Giants vs Yankees has a mythic, rumbling resonance going back for nearly a century. By contrast, any-team vs Rangers makes a sort of dull, clanking rattle that nobody cares about, if they notice it at all.

So let's all get behind the Yankees to come back against the Rangers-- and then go on to lose to the Giants in an epic Series confrontation :)

Alternatively, should the Rangers defeat the Yanks as now looks likely, I want to see massive support for the Giants around here. The political symbolism of Texas vs SF is obvious, the more so since the execrable W is so closely associated with the Rangers. Even for those who don't care much about baseball, this is our chance to go out and win one for Nancy Pelosi, San Francisco liberals, and the entire gay agenda!

          Go Giants!

phones. Use of this technology for organizing is relatively new and was pioneered by the Obama campaign. It is the main reason pollsters were surprised by the Dem sweep in 08.
