Is that national Democrats, including the alleged political geniuses in the White House, will completely refuse to take advantage of this and use it to their own advantage.

It's infuriating to watch the as WH meekly tolerates Republicans treating President Obama like the national doormat. For Christ's sake, he's the president of the United States. Same goes for the WH and other Democrats failing to make Republican sick talk a campaign issue. (Examples: Broden; Sharron Angle and her call for second amendment remedies).

I wouldn't skip voting in any election--I haven't missed one since McGovern '72. But after watching Obama and the Dems cower as Repugs seized the national dialogue, my heart isn't in it like it would be if our guys had some grit and some fight in them. Sure, the president is out campaigning now, but we've lost so much time.

Republicans are and have always been terrified Dems would exploit the easily proven case against corporate/GOP/RW economic warfare on the middle class.

The GOP's howls of outrage at any mention of that telegraphs their fear. Obama is such a great speaker. He's should have explicitly pointed out that conservatives' rise to power behind Reagan corresponds precisely to falling middle-class income and plummeting corporate and upper-income tax rates. Dems should long since have launched a national dialogue about those and other points.

Why can't any of the professional Democrats seem to get any of that through their heads? Either you fight ruthless people, or they'll stomp you into the dirt.
