  •  What's even more disturbing (7+ / 0-)

is how Williams is saying his knee-jerk anti-Muslim bigotry is "independence of thought."

and call it independent thought. Look at the Glenn Beck base: they all "ask questions" that no one else will ask; they all just happen to be the exact same BS questions that Beck asks on his shows, then spoon feeds BS answers to his base.

      •  And this is different (0+ / 0-)

from the vast range of perfectly independent, absolutely unpredictable, amazingly variegated thought on this board. But, I suppose it's a lot simpler to imagine that all those with opinions you dislike are idiots. We, of course, are immune to such a charge (see above). Cozy.

        •  What do you mean, "we" -- ? (0+ / 0-)

Since when does having a difference of opinion equate to logic?

Just b/c Glenn Beck disagrees w/the philosophy espoused on dkos, doesn't mean the positions he holds are logical.  That's the bullshit ipse dixit preached by The Family -- "it is what we say it is b/c we say it is so" (see also, the Bible).

You sound like a brainwashed troll.

          •  Did you have a point? (0+ / 0-)

I mean, other than to jump to the conclusion that anything inimical to your own opinion must be the work of a "troll"? [cf. "knee-jerk"].

Your ignorance of logic is typical for someone with a rightwing brain.

Your opinion is just that -- an opinion -- and isn't logical just b/c you say it is.  That was a favorite tactic of Hitler, and the current leadership in China (the model the GOP thinks we should be following!) is mimicking the same philosophy.

The rightwing doesn't own the dictionary, no matter how many times Karl Rove, The Talking Ham, says it does.  You don't get to make the rules for everyone else.

This is a liberal site dedicated to electing more and better Democrats.  Your comments are evidence that you have the opposite intent, ergo, you are a troll.

    •  bigotry? (0+ / 0-)

Given that people in Europe have been murdered or threatened with same for writings that cause offense to Muslims, being wary isn't necessarily bigotry.

When I was small one of my neighbors was a Dutch woman whose father had been in a forced-labor camp during WWII.  One day a salesman came to the door and, hearing her accent, asked if she was German.  He was chased away with thrown objects and a good deal of swearing.  Now, many Germans were in fact victims or helpless bystanders to the deeds of the Nazi's; does this mean she was a bigot?

Some years back Jesse Jackson, in commenting about the level of violence among black youth, talked about how he was walking down the street alone in Atlanta one night, heard someone walking behind him, and was relieved to find it was a white man; is JJ a knee-jerk bigot?
