the odd HCR-voting Senator and supporters for another 50 legislative initiatives.

If Obama had blasted the GOPers, his own center-right Senators and Congressmen would have killed everything.

On the other hand, blasting the GOPers would have fixed blame on Bush and Co. This 2010 election would be going somewhat better.

Overall, I'll take the legislative changes. Bird in hand... kinda thing.

In politics there's little that comes free.

non-solutions and a weak DEM POTUS and Congress over the real change we want and need.  Keep rewarding them for being weak and that's all you'll ever see when DEMs have the power which won't be often because when given a choice between crazy, tough, guy swagger and a wimp, crazy wins most of the time.

As did Clinton in his collusion with the GOP Congress.  So far, Obama is merely consolidating the changes of the past two administrations.  But wait until he rolls up his sleeves and demands legislation the "cat-food commission" recommends.  That should effectively end The New Deal.  With the 20th Century rolled back, they'll be better positioned to roll-back the 19th Century -- not that public education isn't already taking hits.
