    But I didn't think a moderate repub voting for dems in 08 was ever really part of their base, more like an independent, maybe I'm wrong on that.

    Dems might lose the house because of the economy and their economic policies not working enough, not so much the crapping on the base. That doesn't help though. I doubt to many dem voters from 08 are going to vote repub this time, more likely to just sit at home.

      No, they weren't part of the base. But they could have been if the Democrats had followed through on the campaign promises.  

      No doubt the economy is a big factor this election.  But the fact is, other than trying to prove a negative ("we saved the economy from tanking"), Democrats have to face facts the average individual is worse off than they were in 2006-2008.

      Unemployment has gone up.  There are more foreclosures and a scandal over those foreclosures.  

      OTOH, Wall Street is posting record profits.  

      Small wonder, Democrats are in trouble.  

      I doubt to many dem voters from 08 are going to vote repub this time, more likely to just sit at home.

      Dead right on that one.  

      The only thing that will save the sorry asses of the Democrats is the Republicans.
