"A heavily redacted unclassified version of the report was delivered to the National Archives and obtained by The Times. Former 9/11 Commission members are upset the original report was classified and remains secret to the public."

You know, maybe I'm just too noble, but if I were on that commission I'd be talking up a storm, and if I ended up dead, well, at least I did my part for the rest of humanity.

Why do these commission members not speak up? Do they have too much that Bush could blackmail them on? Is it worth losing the whole of humanity to hide a freaking secret?

Look Mr./Ms. Commission members, whatever you've done, I'll forgive you for it; but if you let this country (and this world) go down the tubes so that your little secret isn't revealed, you're slimier than this freaking man we call pResident!

Why do these commission members not speak up?

It is not in their interest to do so. From an address by Ruppert to the Commonwealth Club of San Fransisco.

By the way, the full bio sheet of the Kean Commission is, like Crossing the Rubicon, truly scary. I read it some time ago on the FTW site but have forgotten where exactly it is now.

The following is only a partial description of some of the more obvious conflicts within the Kean Commission.

Thomas Kean (chairman): Thomas Kean is a director (and shareholder) of Amerada Hess Corporation, which is involved in the Hess-Delta joint venture with Delta Oil of Saudi Arabia, owned by the [Khalid] Bin Mahfouz and Al-Amoudi clans. This company was involved in the initial planning for a trans-Afghan oil pipeline just prior to September 11th. Khalid Bin Mahfouz, once a senior executive with the legendary organized crime bank BCCI, is Saudi Arabia's largest banker and his clients include both the Saudi royal family and the Saudi Bin Ladin group of companies.

Coincidentally, the former Governor of New Jersey is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, together with another prominent member of the board of directors of Amerada Hess, former Secretary of the Treasury Nicholas Brady.

It is also worth mentioning that Thomas Kean also sits as co-chairman of the Homeland Security Project (HSP) under the auspices of the Century Foundation. In this capacity, Kean has played a key role in the draft recommendations of the Century Foundation, which partially laid the groundwork of the Department of Homeland Security legislation. Journalist Wayne Madsen has shown with ample documentation that George W. Bush also had business relations with Khalid Bin Mahfouz, when he was in the Texas oil business. Both George W. Bush and Khalid Bin-Mahfouz were also implicated in the BCCI scandal closely tied to the Iran-Contra and savings and loan scandals.

Other links between Bush and Mahfouz can be found through investments in the Carlyle Group, an American investment firm managed by a board on which former President George H.W. Bush himself once sat. The younger Bush personally held shares in one of Carlyle's owned companies, Caterair, between 1990-94.

      •  Specifics of Commission members? (none)
Besides the Bush crime family and McKean, what about Gorelick, Ben Viste and others? Why was it not in their best interests specifically? Corporate interests as well?

I realize Illuminati/PNAC/Secret Societies exist, but I can't wrap my head around who we can trust and who we can't (I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this problem). It makes me leary. I want to trust certain people like Senator Byrd and Barbara Boxer, and who knows, maybe all politicians are just playing us from both sides of the aisle; but GEEZ, how can we really trust anyone in this government under those circumstances? DAMN!

It seems like many of them even have a part in playing Democratic supporters just long enough to placate us. Look at John Kerry, rolled over faster than a donut hole in hot oil. Tell me THAT wasn't planned.

Were each of the commission members handpicked because of special interests that would culminate in their not assigning blame? What's the Kissinger angle anyway? I understand he was supposed to head the commission first? What happened there?

By the way, does anyone know if Kissinger is ill? I'm thinking he might be Deepthroat, and recent news I heard is that Deepthroat is currently very ill and his name will be released after his death ?!?!?

    •  Fred Fielding (none)
Commissioner Fred Fielding is on the Deep Throat short list.  Now would that not be the irony of ironies if Deep Throat stayed mum on this.
      •  It would unless... (none)
Maybe Deepthroat was serving a purpose by outing Nixon's dirty deeds but didn't wholeheartedly fight for the ethical standards we believe him to have fought for.

Maybe Deepthroat was just a plant all along and most of the people "in the know" knew the plan, sort of like how almost everyone but JFK knew he was going to be assassinated. Why were there so few police escorts and secret service men on that route in Daly Plaza?

      •  More evidence that Fielding was not DT n/t (none)
    •  Being Slimier than Bushco is impossible! n/t (none)
