in both houses.  More then that.  We had a filibuster proof majority!  That feed that line to me and say we had nothing!

...but "we" were actually in the minority. The proof is in the votes.

        •  The GOP will win some. Hope it's the Bluedogs (1+ / 0-)

We could end up with fewer Dems but fewer for the GOP to peel away on each issue too.
I'd rather have a more bare knuckles congress than one that was hamstrung and silent so as not to hurt a bluedog in a conservative district or a conservative state. As long as we are still a majority. Especially if we then fix the fillabuster.

    •  No "numbers in the Senate" needed... (3+ / 0-)

      ... for #4 and #5.

      1. legislation to close guantanamo, end rendition, secret wiretapping, torture,
      1. investigate war crimes committed by and condoned by the previous administration,

Of course I mean leave off the "legislation to" part. I'm just talking about Obama himself (and the DOJ) doing something about it.

WHAT'S STOPPING THEM? (other than the fact that THEY seem to have some use for certain kinds of abuses themselves)
