    May have many, many more!

Completely off topic: do you remember that conversation we had about sci fi novels on the WGLB blog? I wrote down your recommendations but seem to have misplaced it. There was one book that you said was difficult for you to describe? Do you remember the title?

Trouble and her Friends India Carless (Trouble) is on the worm as are most of her friends who are mostly sexual minorities.

      by Melissa Scott

Reverdy Jian of Scott's Dreamships, with copilot Imre Vaughn and his partner Red, a gay couple.

Gaby Piaget of John Varley's Gaea trilogy

Shadow Man by Scott...what if there were 5 sexes? Trouble is, only two of them are legal. Warreven is forced to choose which of the two legal sexes sie will be.

Dhalgren by Samuel R. Delaney has Kid, of course.

Bone Dance by Emma Bull. Is Sparrow a man or a woman?

Bull is married to Will Shetterly, whose Elsewhere and Nevernever also explores some of The Life, as I recall. Bull wrote a sequel called Finder ("its bittersweet undertones plead for tolerance among all living beings").

Hardest to describe would be Dhalgren.
