we'll need +5 in the House to take it back in 2012 although obviously, I want more than that.  I'm excited for another Presidential year!

since I am pretty confident that Obama gets reelected and will have some coattails, albeit likely smaller than his first election if history is any guide.  The wildcard is the fact that there will be reapportionment and redistricting before 2012.

Incidentally, a R+47 night would give them a 226-209 majority, and we'd need to net 9 to retake.

I'mma let you finish, Barack, but the teabaggers have done about the most for international peace of all time.--The collective GOP 10/9/09

I think that's still doable.  Unless Prop 20 passes, California can be gerrymandered and that can counteract some of the Republican gerrymanders.  Let's hope for the best that we can limit Repub gerrymander attempts especially in OH, PA, and FL.  I also want Quinn to win so we can gerrymander Illinois and assuming we keep the NY state Senate, we can gerrymander NY too.

As for the House, there's still some Repub takeovers this year that we can pick right back up in a better year like Obey's former seat in Wisconsin and the Little Rock seat in Arkansas.
