....this isn't a winning sell, it's fairly plausible the Dems (should they care to) have 40 votes to keep this from getting past the Senate.

And it isn't just DADT we're pissed at.  It's having equal access to health care kicked out of health-care reform.  It's about no progress on DPBO.  It's about no progress on UAFA, an immigration issue that's getting tossed under the buss in "immigration reform."  It's about no progress on DOMA repeal.  It's about the president reneging on the President's promise to use the bully pulpit to advocate against state limitations on same-sex marriage. It's about Robert Gibbs evading week after week, any question on LGBT rights.  It's about lack of progress on ENDA.  It's about his lack of support for the idea that LGBT Americans are protected by the 14th amendment.  It's about the President, not once, taking a question from the LGBT media.

    And more.

Honestly, if you want to get past this anger, you're going to have to make a concrete promise that something will be better on even one of these issues if the Dems control the House in 2011.  It's not an easy sell, I'm sorry.

    •  PS: I've already voted. (0+ / 0-)

I'm not suggesting that "not voting" is the right answer.

But damn, do I understand it.

And I've worked for two years to try and get people to listen that we needed to address this before the last minute.

      It's a pity nobody f'ing listened.

Nightprowlkitty help with GOTV (I declined, and cited LGBT issues as the fundamental personal obstacle, along with several other concerns).

Then I was treated to a "It gets better" video with DNC operatives.  I pointed out that I thought it was very low to use that concept as a way to excuse poor Democrat performance on these issues, and also that I had never received an OFA email when DADT was being debated and voted on.

      No emails followed.

    •  Why would they care to... (0+ / 0-)

if one of the reasons for their loss is lack of support from LGBT community...sure that would make them want to fillibuster for the LBGT community concerns.../snark
