Some good news leading to irrational optimism

Expert predicts that we will have the largest absolute turnout ever for a midterm, and the largest percentage since 1982. Which was a good year for Democrats.

If the Democrats are showing up - and this indicates that perhaps they are - results will be 1 or 2 percent better than predicted in our favor.

So drop into my diary and share my optimism about what I'm looking forward to tomorrow night.

    •  Not sure 1982 tells you much (0+ / 0-)

If you go back much beyond the mid 90s you have a totally different political situation.  Back then Dems were dominant in the South.  This was before the old Dixiecrats all moved over to the Republican column.  I think high turnout will be a benefit, but I don't think you can draw many conclusions from '82.

Don't like XOM and OPEC? What have YOU done to reduce your oil consumption? Hot air does NOT constitute a renewable resource!
