The message starts with the Republicans in the House of Representatives are going to screw us. The message continues with we need more not less government intervention.

    Practice tolerance, kindness and charity.

government is and it needs to focus on our base.

Getting Democrats together and keeping them that way is like herding cats that are high on meth, through L.A., during an earthquake, in the rain -6.25, -6.10

but if we have learned nothing it is that in this economy the voters have zero attention span. The Republicans in the House will think they have been handed a mandate for their policies and they haven't. They have been voted in to get something done about the economy, they won't. They don't have a clue beyond cut taxes and cut spending around the fringes. And the fringes they want to cut are the things most of the American people like.

They will go into full bore investigate mode, they won't govern. So while we need to get better at messaging the Republicans are going to help that message without the Democrats having to say much at all.

And where I disagree is that the American people do  not want more government they want a government that actually works, that is effective. And this does not necessarily mean more.

In the choice between changing ones mind and proving there's no need to do so, most people get busy on the proof.
