  •  He's a douche bag.. (8+ / 0-)

Sorry Dino, they're just not that into you. How many times does this perennial loser have to lose before he gets the hint?

a member of my favorite gender.  Next time he should run and lose to Maria Cantwell to go 0-for-4... followed by a loss to Darcy Burner ("one for the thumb").

...Washington attracts younger and smarter people, which is the opposite of teabaggers.

Pretty soon they'll imitate Oregon and draft Tim Eyman to run for something.  Or Steve Largent, if he relocates.

9-11 changed everything? Well, Katrina changed it back.

Scam initiatives are far more profitable.

I'd be happy to trade Timmeh for Bill Sizemore.

        •  Historically, WA elected some Republicans (0+ / 0-)

way back in the 1970s/80s, when the state Republican party still contained some reasonable moderates.

Then in the 90s, the fringe elements took over the Republican party. In 1988, the Republican caucuses picked Pat Buchanan for President (even though most state Republicans were against him). I forgot which year it was, but the Republicans nominated a crazy right wing evangelical (Ellen Craswell) for Governor. Then this year, we got the teabaggers.

For twenty years, the WA Republicans have been Buchanan/evangelical/teabagger types.

So, yes, you're basically right. There's no bench. There are a few Congresspeople in safe Republican seats (but they'd probably lose if they ran statewide). The Attorney General (McKenna) and Secretary of State (Reed) are Republicans, but that's about it. There are some small-town mayors and state legislators here and there, too.

WWJD? Jesus would drive faster is what he would do.
