in the corner of the parking lot at University Way & 50th yesterday afternoon, while out for a bike ride on a beautiful fall day. And it's freaking 71 outside today!

I expected Patty to win and am glad that she did (or will). I'm not so happy that Dems will be losing some house seats in the state, and that a bunch of ballot initiatives that should have been passed, didn't (like the one to create a state income tax on people earning over $200k, that went down 2 to 1), and ones that shouldn't have passed, did (like the one to repeal a tax on candy and soda that helped fund education).

I will never for the life of me understand this American reverance of the non-rich for the rich, even when the latter are getting a free ride and exploiting everyone else, and the former have a next to zero chance of becoming rich someday themselves. Don't the people who voted against the income tax for the rich (the state currently has no income tax for anyone) realize that THEY will be paying for the shortfall that this tax was intended to cover? They'd rather be poorer than disrespect the rich?

Oh, don't get me started. At least Patty won.
