  •  Too many people are disrespecting voters here. (6+ / 0-)

People voted in overwhelming numbers Tuesday, at least for a mid-term. Why is there this stream of people who are supposedly all in for democratic rule, but the vote goes strange or against them, and all the voters are stupid? What the hell kind of operation is this?

The reason why voters voted the way they did, and not the way people wanted them to may have to do with loads of Citizens-united ruling-spurred money, it may have to do with disinformation, misinformation, it may have to do with a great deal of anger. It also may have to do with democrats in congress not giving full-on support to the White House, and it may have to do with the White House not being the absolute best at 1) listening to the people and 2) understanding that there are times for compromise, and then there are times for "compromise" a la Lyndon B. Johnson jawboning congress persons to vote for a certain Civil Rights legislation that they would have otherwise been full-on against.

Of all this I can't say for certain, because I'm an idiot.

and not all voters are stupid.  But I discovered through phone banking and canvassing that there were plenty of confused voters as well as people who were making choices that were not informed by facts.   There was a lot of disinformation out there and most people seemed too busy to try to sort through it.
