  •  You know, your sig is really rather shameful. (0+ / 0-)

You've missed that many votes? Seriously?

They tortured people to get false confessions to fraudulently justify our invading Iraq.

    •  Thanks ...as if all the elections were lost or (0+ / 0-)

      won by ONE vote.

Don't give a damn a/t each & every politician currently alive in the US. Last time i voted for the top part of the ballot was 1972. Never missed SB election

      •  When you aggregate all the people who think that, (2+ / 0-)

that "one" vote turns into hundreds or thousands.

Al Franken won his seat by what, 200 something votes?  If 200 of his voters had instead held the "it's just one vote" philosophy, we'd be looking at Senator Coleman.

To assume to know how close any given election will be is to make claims of psychic powers.

        •  I am not in that states. And the probablity that (0+ / 0-)

my vote tips an election is worse than the probably of winning the lottery. I calculated it.

No, it is not about psychic power, it is about putting variables in models and getting a reading with a certain margin of error. That's it. Nothing magical about that.

That "probability" is the very result of multiple potential voters holding your philosophy.  When you aggregate all of those people who are purposely withholding their vote, you get thousands of votes purposely being withheld.

Thousands of votes can clearly tip an election.  You have everything to lose, and nothing to gain by not voting.

            •  No again because average voters are not that (0+ / 0-)

sophisticated and they are notoriously bad at assessing simple probability...
