many of us have been doing this for some time and all of us should have been doing this for a long time.  We knew they were going to throw everything at us.  I think just working there is not enough.  Been there..done that.  Good on you for doing it now.  There has to be a movement.
A movement to say No compromise.  None of this letting them get away with stopping everything.  There is no wait and see.
They told the democratic leadership and the white house their intentions.  It is up to us to force OUR agenda by never letting up on them.  Not one day should pass that we should not call legislators in droves and the white house comment line get jammed.  Every single day.  I was there for LBJ.  Some of us old progressives know how to rant to those in power.

And thank you for blazing a trail. All I can do is try, and I've beat my head against the wall volunteering, letter-writing, and the like for the better part of 15 years, since I was still in High School. It's not working for me. Gotta try something else now. And if that means running for Precinct Captain, County Chair, and whatever else comes next, then I have to do it. I just wish there were 5 more behind me that would do it if I fail.

      Maybe I'll meet them, yet.

Dance like no one is watching with one fist in the air... We are stronger than everything they have taught us that we should fear.

what you are doing.  It takes us all to work together.  You re right about local though.   We bring about change from the ground up.  Where have I heard that?  LOL
You are fortunate that you can do so in your area without an onslaught of hatred as it would be for me out in the rural red backwoods.  thank you.
