  •  I think the idea is (0+ / 0-)

    to try move the party to the left. I.E., if enough people vote Green, then maybe the next Democrat will be more liberal in order to attract those Green votes.

    I did find it interesting how many Democrats had green websites and neckties.

      where your green candidate has a chance.  And it definitely can make sense when there is a run-off system in place.  Hell, I'd probably vote for a good Green candidate if there was a run-off system in place and the Dem was a centrist or Blue Dog.

      But doing so in federal and big ticket races under the current "winner takes all" system is just plain dumb, and this senatorial election in Illinois proves it:

      Giannolous actually had a good grasp on renewables and environmental issues, but now we have Kirk.... how'd that work out for Green causes?
