  •  Pelosi is NOT (12+ / 0-)

"the most unpopular politician in the US. I don't believe there's ever been a poll where Boehner had higher approval than her. And women love her and identify with her, and at least here in Ohio, women have been so slapped around that this would be the final straw. Who do you think would replace her? Undoubtedly a Harry Reid equivalent who has the third Way on speed dial. Bite me.

    •  Yes she is and Boehner is (0+ / 0-)
number 2. If she steps aside then Boehner becomes 1 and he becomes the face pf the house. Otherwise your "liberal media" will keep on dumping on Pelosi while giving Boehner pass.

she doesn't motivate the GOP any more than the person they would pick if she wasn't here to kick around. They have to pick somebody. Surely you've figured that out by now...

In any case, what pelosi does is move things stategically...if the senate hadn't been a bunch of doorstops, a ratther astounding array of things would have happened due to her work in the house. You want to punish that? The GOP thanks you. Even in the minority, she'll be quite effective.

unpopular politician in the US.More unpopular than either Boehner or Palin. Fact. Democrats in congress are going to be pretty irrelevant for vast majority of the time as GOP has a 25 seat cushion and they have a much more united caucus. This isn't a fact but thanks to redistricting, Citizen's United and bad economy the chances of Democrats retaking the house in 2012 are virtually nil so if you are rebuilding  then rebuild with someone younger. You want liberal, support a liberal candidate. If you want a woman then there are plenty of liberal women in the progressive caucus. I just don;t see the point of this quixotic battle.

House Speakers if they are any good are always lightning rods.

You sound really stupid with that Student Council crap.  Learn some history, stop reading People magazine, and figure out that there's more to politics than "popularity."
