  •  You are pretty freaking funny: "unsuspend", (0+ / 0-)

    "gay married".

Why can't we get a progressive w/ a lot of money to fund a TV station, radio network, print and online media to disseminate facts and speak truth to power?  Then Keith, Rachel, and maybe Ed can leave MSNBC and join the new network and throw NBC in the trash bin where it belongs?  Of course, Comcast wouldn't have to carry that channel, would it?

Don't such people exist?  Soros?  Maybe Gates, Buffett, somebody like the Koch Bros, but someone who didn't inherit their wealth but made it through personal initiative and brainpower.  Maybe just form a cooperative or collective or a "network" to fund such a venture (ok, pipedream, but first we have to see it, then we can do it)?

If we want to win in the future, my guess is that we will need a lot of money and we will need to read more Bertrand Russell.

    Quotes from Bertrand Russell

"Democracy is the process by which people choose the man who'll get the blame."

"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts."

"So far as I can remember, there is not one word in the Gospels in praise of intelligence; and in this respect ministers of religion follow gospel authority more closely than in some others."

"Religion is something left over from the infancy of our intelligence, it will fade away as we adopt reason and science as our guidelines."

I'm loving Bertrand lately, especially after my 81-year old Dad corrected me and told me how to correctly pronounce his first name the other day.  :)

Ok, one other quote from rapper Ice-T as he appeared a couple days ago on an episode of Law & Order (which I rarely watch, but someone else was controlling the remote).

"This isn't a free country, it's a democracy.  And the majority of us don't like what you're doing."

Of course, I don't believe that's what a Democracy means: that the majority should always be able to tell the minority what to do, but I liked the quote and it was funny when he delivered it.  :p
