  •  Are you saying african immigrants don't (0+ / 0-)

experience the same type of racism as african americans?

Once again- how do you explain the achievements of the african immigrants?

    •  I said no such thing. I'm asking you to support (2+ / 0-)

what seemed to be your implied claim and has now moved to overt.

The revolution was televised, and it turned out to be Al Capone's Vault, and they're suddenly awfully mum. - a friend on Patrick's victory

African immigrants and African Americans have the same history?

the most important factor whether students succeed is not their skincolor or their ZIP code or their parents' income - it is the quality of their teacher

      •  Different history, but same present circumstances (0+ / 0-)

In any event, history doesn't have to hold anybody back unless you let it. African immigrants have a history of colonial subjugation too. They don't let that hold them back in America.

nope.  Do you know anything about who immigrates to America?

          •  Yes- they tend to be well educated (0+ / 0-)

So obviously they would do well when compared to inner-city blacks living in poverty.

But as your diary says, we are trying to close the achievement gap between black middle class kids and their white counterparts. Black middle class kids have similar advantages as the black immigrants.

Don't mean to be curt...but honestly, you answered your own question.
