  •  ALL transportation infrastructure (8+ / 0-)

is subsidized, ALL. Has been since the Romans built their "Vias" for national defense purposes. (Absolutely NO parallel between that and the German autobahns of the 1930s....or the Interstate Highway and Defense acts of the 1950's, with all the markers in the shape of a shield....)

Yes, gasoline is taxed to pay for roads. Does it in fact pay the entire cost of the roads? Show me a state or local budget that does NOT include taxpayer/public/socialist/Marxist dollars (A SUBSIDY!) BEYOND gasoline tax income being spent on road repair, maintenance, upkeep, etc.

The list is endless but the fact remains: ALL forms of transportation are subsidized. Another name for this is "civilization."

The only discussion should be about which forms of tranportation should be subsidized in what places.

    Shalom.
