  •  It is so disheartening to watch people be lied to (3+ / 0-)

over and over, and keep falling for the republican's BS.I feel your pain...but MO is almost as bad as Kansas now.

St. Louis is a blue town, but the rural  people are strangling us. The red legislators (bought off by millionaire Rex Sinquefield)put city issues on a state ballot, the people voted against making this city a better place, even though the issue had nothing to do with them in out-state.

They are trying to kill off every progressive and liberal in this state with their barbarian ideas.I wish we could annex into Illinois. Sigh

    •  My sister lives in KC (2+ / 0-)

She said that if the outstaters repeal the 1% tax that helps to fund so many city services she's putting the house up for sale and moving across the state line to Kansas.  The property taxes are higher but at least she'll get services for them.  That 1% funds many of the fire/police services in the cities.

Proposition A, which was bought and paid for by one millionaire named Rex Sinquefield.

His aim is to eliminate State Income taxes, and this was a test. Rural yahoos voted for it. The big cities are so screwed. Now he wants to make us a straight sales tax state...placing the burden on the poor even further.

The University system sucks, the education system sucks, and the services suck...but hay...its a cheap place to live if you are a gazillionaire and can afford to buy off the politicians...who are 95% repugs.
