I think your new fund raising effort should take a page from Karl Rove and make it a separate fund managed by progressive professionals. The new fund would also be able to take large contributions in addition to the $20 a month subscribers. It will be able to keep everyone's name confidential, which I believe will improve your subscription rate. Some people have clients, family, or employers who might not look favorably at supporting progressive candidates. In this fashion the fund could target it's independent expenditures on races where, in the view of the fund managers, the investments would have a significant impact and help elect more progressive Democrats.

      $20 a month x 20 million Democrats=VICTORY

I don't know the details of how these groups are formed, but we certainly have some templates to follow from the other side.  I would think that anyone who is actively involved in political fund raising, or practices election law, would be a good place to start. I think a structure like this would deal with some of the objections that have been raised by potential subscribers. This fund would be independent of the Democratic Party, and its various committees, and focus specifcally on supporting progressive candidates.
