    jumbled up, yes, that's Wagnerian, and he was a very good example of a Wagnerian.  I fell in love with Journey to the Center of the Earth when I was a kid because of that kickass music.  

    The comments on that video say that it was an inspiration for Elfman's Batman music, which lets us add Elfman to the list of Wagnerian film music composers.

    Herrmann's The Day the Earth Stood Still score.  Gotta LOVE that theremin (that spooky vibrato electronic instrument).

      ... that The Day the Earth Stood Still score just sounds like "cheesy sci-fi music."

      Of course, Herrmann very innovatively invented that sound, which was then stolen and overused in cheesy movies -- so in reality they sound like Herrmann.

      (Sort of like the no-nothing snob complaint that "Korngold sounds like movie music"!)
