. . . John Roberts will likely still be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, which Republicans will continue to stack with young conservatives every time they gain the White House.

Twenty years from now it could be a 7-2 conservative majority.

    Just something to think about.

The real enemy of the good is not the perfect, but the mediocre.

    •  Yep. It's easy to stomp our feet, and refuse (0+ / 0-)

to vote for Obama because we feel betrayed, etc, etc...... I'm certainly there alot of the time, but......  the repercussions can be much more far reaching than we immediately think about. The Supremes are almost pointless now, if they are stacked with non-stop right wingers and "moderates", that's more justice for this country. Then the game is truely lost.

ALL of us, myself included, need to think carefully between now and 2012 about we are going to do. When we get right to the date, clear heads must prevail. Voting must be done on an anyalytical basis, not just passion.

    •  it's a valid point.. (0+ / 0-)

And I hadn't even factored in Obama's appointees that are quite likely corporatists too. I guess the upcoming class action lawsuit challenge by AT&T will show us soon enough.

But not everything has to go to the supreme court. Like taxes and safety nets.
