Looking at exit polls, the majority of those who voted want the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy to expire.

That said, what's really "Baffling" is that Obama put's out a you tube address on Sunday exhorting his opposition to extending tax cuts for the wealthy and by Thursday is already giving up the fight.  He did the same thing with HCR and DADT.

He still has his Veto pen but I doubt he will use it when necessary.

from his own lips, he gets the benefit of the doubt.

I think all the tax cuts should expire, so I'll be ticked off even if he just extends the middle class tax cuts.

Tax cuts for anyone during stupid.

..."process oriented."  I think that's an apt descriptor.  He is more interested in consensus building than in expressing and working toward an agenda of his own.  Sometimes it is difficult to understand what he actually believes, short of "bringing people together."

In many ways Obama is the anti-Bush.  Bush was all self-confidence and surety -- even when he was wrong he steadfastly held to an image of himself as a "leader."  That approach proved to be disastrous, but Obama has swung too far in the other direction.  If you want people to follow you, you have to let them know where you're going.
