    Dear Miss Martin Manners Mayta,

Although the term is to be regretted, it is never proper to "pimp" one's own diary.

One may pimp a diary created by someone else, though the wording you give must therefore be modified to "Can I pimp [username of wonderful diarist]'s diary here?"

To promote one's own diary, one would instead employ another regrettable term, and write "Can I whore my diary here?", as one whore's one's own diaries, while pimping those of others.

I was taught this distinction by those who came before me on Daily Kos, and feel certain that an arbiter of what is properly done in all situations would wish to convey proper terms as well.

(did I get that right, dear?)

You are indeed the arbiter of the real meta and the final word on all things this realm and beyond.

The distinction is one that I failed to see and one that I am laughing my ass off over readily admit it more accurate.

As I mentioned below, I am contractually obligated to leave the real meta to the real metamaticians of which © sardonyx is clearly one.

I would have been disappointed had you not addressed me thus.

        You are most kind.
