    too. Dance until we drop.

And I applaud your apparent faith in the inexorable power of technology innovation and application to make things better. Can you point to any example of tech innovation that has been an unalloyed good, without hordes of unintended consequences and externalities that the accelerating rush to "new and improved" makes even more likely, as time for thoughtful consideration and attempts to look ahead to possible effects and downsides and futilities is excised from the development process as "unneccesary costs that hurt profits and stand in the way of growth?" I'm a cynic, I know, but still I can't think of even one.

I do not have blind faith in technology, it has as dual a nature as anything else, depends on the case.

I think the original topic was the negative role companies can play and I was merely commenting that they play a positive roles as well. They can be part of the problem or part of the solution.

Equally importiant is the behavior of humans, the choices we make. Want clean air? Turn off light you are not using and walk or bike don't drive.

But if you are blogging, this is a possiblity created by big companies that provide the infrastucture to do so, and this activity also has a carbon footprint. So if you decide to do so, you are getting in bed with big corporations and contributing to global warming, no?

Or maybe it depends how you use this resource?
