  •  Hell, what a tired excuse (0+ / 0-)

We've heard this excuse time and time again from Obama's fawning, blinded supporters, that it's only been 6, 12, 18 and now 24 months since he took office. Wake the fuck up. Obama's term is HALF WAY OVER for Christ's sake. You must be of the "he's playing 11th dimensional chess" crowd who still thinks that Obama is going to pull out a secret weapon any moment now and unleash it against the GOP. Well, allow me to disabuse you of any such notion:

Obama Blames Himself for Tone in Washington

Just 20 days after his inauguration, with Republicans trying to block his stimulus bill, President Obama refused to acknowledge that he had underestimated how hard it would be to change the way Washington works.

But as the president returned home on Sunday to face an even more rigidly divided capital city, Mr. Obama went even further: he blamed himself for the failure to do what he had repeatedly promised: to change the tone.

He said his own "obsessive" focus on implementing the right policies had led him to ignore a part of the reason voters handed him a mandate in 2008.

"I neglected some things that matter a lot to people, and rightly so: maintaining a bipartisan tone in Washington," he told reporters in a brief question-and-answer session aboard Air Force One as he returned from a 10-day trip abroad. "I’m going to redouble my efforts to go back to some of those first principles," he promised.

Obama has made himself the Capitulator In Chief. The GOP, and indeed the American People, see his continual "compromises" (selling out) to the retuglicans as a sign of weakness. The right wingers smell blood in the water and they are circling Obama as though he was a wounded whale in the ocean. The question at this point is not 'is Obama going to be a one termer', but are we going to primary him with a candidate with some actual principles that he or she is not willing to sell out if we have any hope of winning the Oval Office in 2012.

    •  I'm fucking tired of being accused... (11+ / 0-)

      Of being a "fawning supporter"

The man is not perfect.  He deserves to be criticized.

He doesn't deserve to be destroyed and maligned.

      •  Obama is the one who is destroying (0+ / 0-)

his own presidency by compromising his own supposed convictions and principles time and time again; by his complete inaction on the economy; by his refusal to fire his supply-sider Reaganomics loving economics team; by siding with the bankers, with wall street, with big pharma & the healthcare industry and not siding with the American People; by his failure to close Guantánamo Bay; by his expansion of the wars in the Middle East; by his refusal to prosecute the previous administration's war criminals and by his continuation if many of their same policies; by his lip service to the Public Option while pulling the rug out from under that Public Option; but most of all he is destroying his own presidency by refusing to stand up and fight.

And lastly, if you are tired of being accused being a blinded Obama supporter then stop acting like one. Stop making lame excuses for Obama's actions and inactions like "it's only been 24 months..." because that is just about the saddest excuse yet.

is what America has been about since it's existence.

The one time that Compromise broke down, we found ourselves in a Civil War in which 600,000 Americans were killed.

You would know this, if you learned History in school.

Obviously, you missed that subject in school, or you were too busy playing with your i-pod.

      •  YOU are the perfect example of a fawning (0+ / 0-)
