Link to whole story in reply titled "This."

Short version: Passenger declined scan, threatened to have TSA agent arrested if junk (genitalia) touched. Now threatened with civil charges including $10,000 fine.

Putting aside the question of whether the procedures are useful and necessary ... isn't it sufficient to just refuse to let the guy board?

comply, let him drive.  As a frequent flier, the last thing I want is more complaints slowing down the security lines.

He opted to not be scanned or groped and left - and then AFTER they'd escorted him out, AFTER he'd had his flight fare refunded - they came up to him and told him he had to GO BACK and be scanned and/or groped - or be fined $10,000. He walked.

        I'd have walked, too.

But instead - and as a frequent flyer, yes (>40 times in 2008, >30 times last year) - I just booked two trips on Amtrak today. I'm not subjecting my kid to this bullshit.
