      foremen, general foremen, and others who were really just workers, but in this country they are considered "management".  Their health care and pensions were not protected.

        did assume the pensions of the salaried retirees. I think--but don't quote me--the only ones whose health care was cut were those eligible for Medicare.

        I agree those guys should be allowed to organize. The company only treats them well because it would be unseemly to treat them worse than the people they supervise.
