I flew >40 times two years back, >30 last year, and will hit 20 or so this year. Some of that is private (long story, work-related), but most involves commercial flights.

However, this year we're not going anywhere for Thanksgiving, and both our Christmas trip to Portland and a trip to Chicago for a wedding next spring will be via Amtrak.

I have always liked the trains. Quick question, what do you think of the pictures on the diary of the hi-speed trains in Europe?

But then again, we've been considering relocating for awhile anyway. Thinking more of Mexico & Canada for family reasons, and I'd hoped to not have to do it 'til the kid's out of school (5 more years) - but we'll see.

Amtrak's kludgey and sorely in need of updating (Oh - we're NARP members as well, btw)- but I'll take it over the TSA right now. We took the train to Portland last Christmas, so doing it this year wasn't too unusual. Going to Chicago's a bit longer haul, but we did that from Portland a few years ago, too.
